Weird Science

What an excellent 80’s film! It’s strange that I despise the 1980s decade so much but a film like this brings me so much joy. It follows two nerdy high school teens that create a perfect woman using “high tech” methods to use at their will. The woman has magical powers and can bring their greatest fantasies to life. Throw in a huge party, a young Robert Downy Jr., and misfit bikers from hell and you have a pretty good formula for an 80s flick.

The best part about this film in my eyes is the older brother Chet played by Bill Paxton. It’s interesting to mention that Chet and Iian are actually brothers in real life. Anthony Michael Hall also adds to the popularity of the film because of his classic, cult status. But Chet is the greatest. He’s just so knuckled-headed that you can’t wait for him to interact with the other cast members. The scene at the end where Lisa puts him in his place is by far the best in the film.

This is another film that I’ve brought before my wife, and she actually really liked it. Those of you that actually love the 80s will appreciate all the music, clothes, and general ambience of the film. I love the film as well, but not for those reasons.
